Successful Home Energy Event
Transition Town MK held a Home Energy Event at MK Gallery on 9th Oct 2021.
Home Energy accounts for a significant proportion of the UK’s CO2 emissions.
Dr Peter Clough, from Cranfield unpacked hydrogen as a CO2 reducing fuel and Jane Grindey, from Wolverton Community Energy, looked the advantages of a community-led approach to retrofitting (adapting exiting housing stock to make it closer to net zero CO2). There were also contributions from Paul Cinglio from the National Energy Foundation Superhomes project and from Interglow, a company specialising in wall insulation (both via Zoom), Finally, we heard the personal testimony of Will Akast who installed both solar panels and a heat pump in his 1950s ex-council stock. The audience took advantage of the opportunity to ask questions.
We will be releasing a shortened video of this event.
